With a career spanning over 4 decades, Emily Cheng's (b. 1953) radially composed pastel-hued paintings encroach into the universal qualities of the sublime and the spiritual.
Cheng graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1975 and has exhibited all over the world, including The Bronx Museum, New York; MOCA, Taipei; Louis Vuitton, Kowloon; Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Manila; Guangzhou Triennial, China; and Contemporary Art Museum at USF, Tampa, Florida. Cheng has been the recipient of several awards including the New York Foundation of the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Pollock Krasner Award and a Yaddo Fellowship.
